Manchester City will be determined to get their Champions League campaign back on track when visiting Club Brugge after a loss to PSG.
The Belgian outfit are actually a point above the Citizens in Group A following a bright start, so can’t be discounted lightly.
However, we reckon 9/5 for an away win and both teams to score is the way to go with our first Club Brugge vs Man City prediction.
A Look At Club Brugge’s Betting Odds
Brugge kicked off with an encouraging 1-1 draw versus PSG on home turf, when Hans Vanaken cancelled out Ander Herrera’s 15th-minute opener.
The blue and blacks were behind after just five minutes when visiting RB Leipzig, with Christopher Nkunku beating the offside trap.
However, Vanaken had one fierce shot saved before equalising on 22 minutes and Mats Rits put his side in front before half-time.
Former Liverpool keeper Simon Mignolet saved well from Andre Silva late on and Philippe Clement’s side maintained the 2-1 advantage.
Clement adopted a 5-4-1 formation in Germany but his midfielders do look to get forward at every opportunity.
With all five goals in their opening two matches netted prior to the interval, 7/2 for both teams to score in the first half here is tempting from the Club Brugge vs Man City odds.
A Look At Manchester City’s Betting Odds
City crave this trophy more than any other after being denied a maiden Champions League triumph by Chelsea in last season’s decider.
Pep Guardiola’s men have made a rather sloppy start to their group-stage campaign this time around, though.
Nkunku hit a hat-trick for Leipzig at Etihad Stadium in a see-saw encounter, when the Blues ultimately prevailed 6-3.
City then had more than their fair share of possession when visiting PSG and registered 18 attempts on goal, but slipped to a 2-0 defeat.
Questions were raised over whether the failure to sign a star striker, such as Harry Kane, could come back to haunt the Citizens.
“We’re frustrated with the result,” said Ruben Dias. “We created chances, played well, but ultimately it’s a matter of not finishing your chances.”
It didn’t help that Kevin De Bruyne lacked sharpness in Paris and Raheem Sterling seemed short of confidence in front of goal.
This is a step down in class, though, and the feeling is that City will enjoy taking on Brugge’s man-for-man marking system at the back.
We’re finishing off our Club Brugge vs Man City betting tips by taking 19/2 for a 3-1 away win.
Last Champions League result:
RB Leipzig 1-2 CLUB BRUGGE – Hans Vanaken, Mats Rits
Paris Saint-Germain 2-0 MAN CITY
