With Maurizio Sarri yet to win over the Bianconeri faithful, bwin are betting on who will be in charge of Juventus at the end of August.
Although top of the table again in Italy, Juve have not been overly-convincing, plus they trail Lyon 1-0 following the first leg of their Champions League tie.
Prior to the coronavirus lockdown, speculation was rife about a change at the helm being likely this summer, so here’s our look at the leading candidates in the Juventus next manager odds – settled on who is in charge by 31/08/2020.
MAURIZIO SARRI @ 17/20
Many pundits predicted the 61-year-old former Napoli and Chelsea boss would be a stop-gap appointment before a bigger name became available and that could still prove the case. However, a 2-0 triumph over Inter Milan prior to the Serie A shut-down did keep Juve at the summit and the pandemic that has hit Italy particularly hard may persuade board members to seek some stability by retaining the status quo.
SIMONE INZAGHI @ 3/1
The 43-year-old has steered Lazio to second place in Serie A this season, with the Biancocelesti lying just one point behind Juve. What will appeal to Turin fans is that Inzaghi’s side have scored 10 more goals and are generally believed to play more attacking football. The 3-5-2 formation favoured by Inzaghi should also suit Juve, with Cristiano Ronaldo and Paulo Dybala left free to flourish up front.
MAURICIO POCHETTINO @ 6/1
Pochettino impressed the Juve hierarchy when Tottenham gave the Old Lady a tough test in the Champions League two years ago, with Spurs drawing 2-2 in Italy before a 2-1 London loss. The 48-year-old Argentine was widely tipped to succeed Massimiliano Allegri at Allianz Stadium last summer, but money was an issue at that point, with Poch having a lucrative long-term deal at Tottenham and a big buy-out clause. His surprise exit in November means that is no longer an issue!
PEP GUARDIOLA @ 6/1
Guardiola has been a trophy-winning machine with Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Manchester City, so he would be number one on the wish-list of pretty much any team in Europe contemplating a change of manager. A restless nature means the 49-year-old is due a move following four seasons at Etihad Stadium and the Blues’ potential Champions League ban over Financial Fair Play regulations is another reason to think Pep could be ready for a fresh challenge, although he has insisted he will stay loyal to City for at least one more year.
MASSIMILIANO ALLEGRI @ 8/1
Allegri enjoyed an outstanding stint at Juve from 2014 to 2019, leading the Bianconeri to five straight Serie A titles, four Coppa Italia triumphs and a couple of Champions League finals. If Sarri’s days are numbered, we could envisage a one-year deal for the likeable 52-year-old to tide things over until Guardiola does fancy a switch.
ZINEDINE ZIDANE @ 10/1
Zidane’s departure from Real Madrid and subsequent return to the Bernabeu both came as a surprise, showing that nothing can be ruled out in elite-level football these days. The plus points for this move are that the Frenchman helped the Old Lady to win two Serie A titles as a player and has a great relationship with Ronaldo from their time together in the Spanish capital, so many will be tempted by a nice price in the Juventus next manager odds.
