Everton have been in excellent form at Goodison Park lately and can add to wins over Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United by beating Burnley on home turf.
The visitors have been on a decent run themselves but Boxing Day’s 5-1 thrashing by the Toffees at Turf Moor is hard to forget.
Marco Silva’s side have gone six hours without conceding a goal at this venue, so 31/20 for a home win to nil will do for our opening Everton vs Burnley prediction.
A Look At Everton’s Betting Odds
Everton couldn’t scale the heights of their recent 4-0 drubbing of United when travelling to Crystal Palace, but were the better side in a goalless draw at Selhurst Park.
Bernard and Lucas Digne hit the woodwork, while substitute Cenk Tosun saw a back-heeled effort brilliantly saved by Eagles keeper Vicente Guaita.
Seamus Coleman told the club website: “We are more comfortable on the ball and do things that we weren’t doing two or three months ago, when results weren’t going so well for us.
“But we need to be coming here and getting all three points to kick on – and that’s something we’ll be looking to do next season.
“I felt we dealt with Palace very well and their dangerous players. Just in front of goal, we got into some good positions and didn’t make the most of it.
“That’s something to try to build looking forward. It’s trying to find that consistency away from home at times, but I have to say the last couple of months we have looked much better.”
In front of their own fans, the Toffees have been outstanding and another good atmosphere is expected for the final games of the season at this venue.
Looking at the Everton vs Burnley odds, we think 27/4 for a 2-0 home victory is fair value.
Last Everton line-up: Pickford, Keane, Zouma, Digne, Coleman, Sigurdsson, Gueye, Schneiderlin, Bernard, Calvert-Lewin, Richarlison.
Yerry Mina and Theo Walcott are both in contention after overcoming a hamstring injury and illness respectively, but Andre Gomes serves the final game of a three-match suspension.
A Look At Burnley’s Betting Odds
Burnley followed up three straight wins and a draw at Chelsea by giving Manchester City a decent work-out at Turf Moor, but couldn’t quite keep out Sergio Aguero’s 63rd-minute decider.
Sean Dyche was adamant that the Clarets will continue to give 100 per cent, despite now being assured of another season in the top flight.
He said: “I think there is a strong sign there that the mentality is right to go and finish the season properly. I was pleased with that.
“We’ve put such a big effort into the second half of the season. I’m delighted with what the staff and players have put in. Now we want to finish it right.”
Burnley will again seek to be resilient at the back, but we just feel the Toffees can wear them down as the game goes on.
Let’s finish off our Everton vs Burnley betting tips by taking 333/100 for the scores to be level at half-time and then the hosts to prevail.
Last Burnley line-up: Heaton, Lowton, Taylor, Tarkowski, Mee, Cork, Hendrick, Westwood, Barnes, Wood, McNeil.
Peter Crouch could be back involved for Burnley after recovering from appendix surgery, while Phil Bardsley’s gashed leg has cleared up.
Robbie Brady is available again after missing the loss to City to attend the birth of his son, but Aaron Lennon (knee) and Steven Defour (calf) remain sidelined.
