Serie A predictions: Sunday treble from Italy’s top division

bwin’s Enhanced Accas

We’re continuing our regular Serie A predictions with a 7/1 Sunday treble from the second round of fixtures in Italy’s top division.

Inter Milan claimed the Scudetto title last season but Juventus and several other powerhouses will be looking to mount a challenge this term.

AC Milan to beat Cagliari @ 21/50

The Rossoneri finished strongly last season to take second place in the table, dropping only two points in their closing five fixtures. Losing Gianluigi Donnarumma and Hakan Calhanoglu over the summer was a blow but some decent reinforcements have arrived in Milan, including Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud. Brahim Diaz scored the only goal of the game at Sampdoria first up and AC should be too strong for Cagliari, who were held to a 2-2 draw by Spezia on home turf.

Sassuolo and Sampdoria to draw @ 13/5

The Black and Greens did well to end up eighth last term and hit the ground running with a 3-2 victory at Verona, although they were aided by the 45th-minute dismissal of Miguel Veloso. However, Sassuolo had the second-highest number of home draws last season and we fancy Sampdoria to secure a share of the spoils at Mapei Stadium in our Serie A predictions. La Samp are rated a solid, mid-table team capable of being competitive against all but the elite sides.

Roma to win at Salernitana @ 4/7

Jose Mourinho has made an immediate impact at Roma, posting a couple of Europa Conference League wins over Trabzonspor either side of a 3-1 domestic triumph versus Fiorentina. Former Manchester United and Arsenal playmaker Henrikh Mkhitaryan opened the scoring in that game and Jordan Veretout hit a double. With Tammy Abraham and Stephan El Shaarawy also present, the Giallorossi are well equipped to cope with the departure of Edin Dzeko. Promoted Salernitana looked defensively fragile when beaten 3-2 at Bologna.
