Odds: Turkey Evens, Draw 11/5, Rep of Ire 29/10

Kick Off: 1730, 23/03/2018

Stadium: Antalya Arena

Republic of Ireland boss Martin O’Neill will take an inexperienced squad to Antalya for Friday’s international friendly with Turkey and the hosts can take advantage.

Both teams missed out on qualifying for this summer’s World Cup, but Turkey will take heart from the progress made by several players over the past couple of years.

They look on an upward curve and Evens for a home win is worth putting in our Turkey vs Republic of Ireland betting predictions.

A Look At Turkey’s Betting Odds

Turkey are hoping veteran Romanian coach Mircea Lucescu can enjoy one last hurrah in his final management job.

The 72-year-old has had success with the likes of Inter Milan, Shakhtar Donetsk and Galatasaray, taking charge of more than 100 Champions League games.

He should be able to get the best out of some useful squad members, including Everton striker Cenk Tosun, AC Milan midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu and Roma prodigy Cengiz Under.

With several defenders attached to Bundesliga clubs and the usual assortment of Besiktas, Fenerbahce and Galatasaray players involved, this is a solid-looking set-up.

The hosts secured three clean-sheet World Cup qualifying victories in front of their own fans, including a 1-0 defeat of Croatia, so 19/10 for a home win to nil appeals from the Turkey vs Republic of Ireland odds.

A Look At Republic of Ireland’s Betting Odds

The Republic of Ireland battled hard to finish second behind Serbia in their pool and seemed on course to reach Russia 2018 when drawing 0-0 in Denmark in the first leg of a play-off.

However, the scars of a subsequent 5-1 drubbing by the Scandinavian side in Dublin may take some time to heal.

With Rob Elliot and Kieren Westwood both injured, Ireland’s three goalkeepers boast just one cap between them, with Bradford veteran Colin Doyle joined by Aaron McCarey of Ross County and Manchester United youngster Kieran O’Hara.

Republic skipper Seamus Coleman is in line for an international return after almost a year away with a broken leg, while Shane Long can lead the line up front.

However, eight uncapped players are in O’Neill’s squad and he may be tempted to experiment with a few new faces.

We’re backing the hosts to prevail 1-0 at 9/2 in our Turkey vs Republic of Ireland betting tips.
