We’re posting regular NBA predictions throughout the season and are looking to land a 15/2 treble on these games played in the early hours of Thursday morning.
American basketball betting has increased since Sky Sports won the right to broadcast live games, including this week’s crunch contest between Oklahoma City Thunder and New Orleans Pelicans.
Hopefully, these three NBA betting tips from Josh Luckhurst will hit the target:
Charlotte Hornets vs Detroit Pistons over 219.5 points @ 19/20
The Hornets have been a scoring machine at the Spectrum Center this season, averaging 116.6 points in their 14 home games. They have scored at least 108 in each match in front of the Charlotte fans and they take on an out-of-sorts Detroit outfit who have lost their last five matches. Ish Smith will miss a return to Charlotte, while Reggie Bullock could also be absent for the Pistons. However, they do have Blake Griffin and Andre Drummond among their ranks, so they should expect to pour in the points. If you take away the Hornets’ home average, that leaves Dwane Casey’s visitors needing to score just 104, which they have done in eight of their 10 away contests.
Dallas Mavericks -9.5 vs Atlanta Hawks @ 1/1
The Mavericks are on an incredible home run at the moment, winning their last 10 matches at the American Airlines Center, and have suffered just two defeats this season on this court. Team spirit has been the key to their success, highlighted by Luka Doncic and Harrison Barnes’ rankings of 45th and 46th respectively in the points-per-game column. Barnes top-scored with 19 last time out, while Wesley Matthews hit 21 the game prior, so they are not relying on one star player. Meanwhile, the Hawks are 2-11 on the road this campaign and have lost eight of those away games by 10 or more points, so an 11th successive home victory for Rick Carlisle’s side looks on the cards in our NBA predictions.
Sacramento Kings to beat Minnesota Timberwolves @ 6/5
Bogdan Bogdanovic is in the form of his life for the Kings, top-scoring in each of their previous three matches. Sacramento have won four of their last five games, with their only blip coming at the Indiana Pacers on Sunday. Minnesota, meanwhile, have struggled on the road this season, with just two triumphs from 12 away games, and have already tasted defeat at the Golden 1 Center in a 121-110 loss last month. It is a surprise that Sacramento are not favourites at home to a team with such a dismal record on their travels, so a straight win is very appealing for our NBA betting tips.
