Oilers -2.5 goals vs Golden Knights @ 17/4
Connor McDavid has picked up where he left off in last year’s truncated season with 11 points through four games and continues his lethal partnership with line-mate Leon Draisaitl, which is hard for any team to contain.
The 4-0 Oilers rolling into T-Mobile Arena present a daunting task for a Golden Knights team missing key players through injury.
The 6-2 defeat last week to Los Angeles Kings was a miserable evening for Vegas as in addition to defeat it also saw last season’s leading goalscorer Max Pacioretty go down with a broken foot after blocking a shot and top-line winger Mark Stone picked up an undisclosed injury that will see him sidelined for an extended period.
In addition to that, defenceman Alec Martinez did not practice on Thursday and is also likely to miss out on what might be a long night for the Golden Knights.
Kings vs Stars – Under 5.5 goals @ 4/5
Both teams have largely struggled for offence early in the season, despite Los Angeles opening the season with a 6-2 win over an out-of-sorts Knights at Staples Center.
The Kings have heavily relied on the top line of Dustin Brown, Anze Kopitar and Victor Arvidsson, with Kopitar scoring five of the team’s eight goals.
They have struggled for any offence from the bottom of the line-up but having one of the game’s top shutdown centres in Phillip Danault allows them to keep opponents in check.
Dallas have only scored seven goals through their four games so far but have spread it through the line-up more effectively than the Kings but in a match-up where both teams have struggled to find the net, a goalfest is unlikely.
Bruins -1.5 goals vs Sabres @ 5/4
The Buffalo Sabres have been the surprise story in the early stages of the season.
Expected to finish at the foot of the standings come April, the Sabres are off to a 3-0 stand that includes comfortable victories over the Montreal Canadiens and Vancouver Canucks but can it continue against the their toughest examination so far?
Boston, on the other hand, are expected to make the play-offs and ran out 3-1 winners in their opening road game at Dallas. An offence led by Brad Marchand, Taylor Hall and David Pastrnak might just be too much for the Sabres.
