We’ve got European Rugby Champions Cup predictions for this weekend’s semi-finals and are eyeing a 21/10 double if both of our handicap betting tips oblige.
All four remaining teams will put everything on the line in a bid to book a trip to San Mames in Bilbao for next month’s final and we’re expecting a couple of hard-fought contests.
Scarlets +11.5 points at Leinster @ 4/5
Three-time champions Leinster will be hard to beat at the Aviva Stadium on Saturday but we reckon the Scarlets can be competitive in Dublin.
After opening with two defeats, the Welsh region finished their pool off with four victories, including a fine 30-27 defeat of perennial powerhouses Toulon, and again impressed with a 29-17 triumph over La Rochelle in the quarter-finals.
If the Scarlets can avoid being overpowered at the breakdown, they have the ball-playing skills and athleticism to put points on the board and keep Leinster on their toes.
Munster +4.5 points at Racing 92 @ 3/4
These teams met twice during the group stage and there is not much between them on that evidence, with Munster obliging 14-7 in Ireland and Racing shading a 34-30 triumph in France.
When it comes to knockout rugby, though, Munster are past-masters at grinding out results in tough conditions and that experience will stand them in good stead at Stade Chaban-Delmas in Bordeaux.
Andrew Conway’s superb late try in a 20-19 quarter-final triumph over Toulon epitomised the fighting spirit of the 2006 and 2008 winners and the Red Army will travel over in great numbers to neutralise any home country advantage for Racing.
