Formerly played mid-August, on the third weekend before Labor Day – constituting the 4th and final major of the golf season - since 2019 it starts on the weekend before Memorial Day and constitutes the seasons second major. This year the tournament will be held from the 11th to the 17th May and hosted by TPC Harding Park in San Francisco for the first time, with a prize of $12.5 million up for grabs.
